The trailer is gorgeous. Cloud Atlas is either going to be Inception cubed, or a huge hot mess.
Now that Hunger Games has finally arrived, it’s time toward what comes next. Here’s what I’m looking forward to in the next couple of months:
Bobcat Goldwaithe’s God Bless America. After dropping out of sight for a while, he has a new HBO Special and what looks like an enjoyably nasty new movie. The trailer is NSWF
Snow White and the Huntsman. The trailers look phenomenal, and Charlize Theron has been a favorite of mine since 2 Days in the Valley, the criminally under-rated 1996 film that was her first credited screen appearance. (And, of course, as an Arrested Development veteran, she can do no wrong.)
The Pirates! Band of Misfits. I’ve loved the Gideon Defoe’s The Pirates! books for years, and Wallace and Gromit films for even longer. The two together should be magic.
New shots of Nicholas Hoult in Warm Bodies as the world’s hottest zombie were released this week. The film opens 10 August. (A Book Lover’s Diary)
Hunger Games tickets go on sale on 22 February. (HLN TV)
Rob Marshall, who directed Chicago, Nine, and Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, will direct a film adaptation of Into the Woods for Disney. I’m not a big musical fan, but I’ve loved this one ever since I saw the road tour when it played at the Kennedy Center in the late 80s. (Deadline Hollywood)
